David Alexandru
In time, step by step, after pencil I passed to brushes, palette knives, gouache paints, acrylics, and then I embraced oil painting. Watercolor filled my curiosity as well.
Delighted to be privately tutored by teacher Ciprian Stratulat.
I’ve sent works to many international and national competitions, many of which I’ve won.

I received my first international award in India. When I turned 9, I was invited by ICR Vienna to exhibit my work. After a month I was flying to Kerala, India, and then, two months later, I landed in Tehran, Iran.
My art has given me the opportunity to meet only special people who have guided and supported me all along this journey. I’ve also been invited twice to the European Parliament on the occasion of art events. I returned for the second time to India as ambassador for a painting competition.
Sometimes I feel like I’m in a dream, like everything that happens to me is unreal…Then I tell myself that’s how it should be.
I’ve still kept in a drawer corner a bunch of my first pens, since 5 years ago.
From time to time, whenever I think I’m in a dream, I look at them, I smile, and I realize that, in fact, this is reality.
Then I carefully put them back in their place, so as not to forget … I would never separate from them.

What is painting for me? It’s part of my life. Sometimes at school, when I “struggle” with an idea, I can’t wait to come home. I arrive, leave my backpack in the hallway, and enter my world, my colorful world. Everything around me inspires me – a branch, a bird, an old building, even the wind … Everything. I also have some favorite painters: Aivazovschi, Monet, Dali …
I’ve had 26 personal exhibitions. Still, the dearest to my soul remains the first one, from nine years ago.
Now I feel just as good when I work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and tempera. Pencil, pen, and charcoal are my equally good friends. I am curious and I like discovering new techniques. If at first, I don’t succeed, I try and try again. I love my life, it’s very beautiful!
I was born on August 9, 2005, in Iasi.
I am a student in the 10th grade at my hometown art college.
I have artworks in private collections from USA, Germany, Austria, Australia, Great Britain, Denmark, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Canada, Switzerland, Malaysia, Romania, India, Mexico, and Iran.
I have exhibited in Thiranvanthapuram, London, Washington, Vienna, Tehran, Chisinau, the Parliament Palace, the European Parliament, and Iasi.
I have won over 160 international and national diplomas.
My first international sale was run by Saatchi Galleries in London, in 2016.
Perhaps the most important distinction ever received is the Pole of Peace and not necessarily because it is the 1st prize that I won in the USA, but because the Pole is located in the park in front of the Iasi City Hall, and the original diploma, which is in the possession of the City Hall, has been cultural heritage since 2017.
I’ve had 26 personal exhibitions so far.
I wholeheartedly invite you to a together journey in my colorful world.
